OPERATION ISLAIS CREEK DESTINATION HUB PROJECT TWO-YEAR TIMELINE
FIRST YEAR TASKS
Implement Site Restoration Plan at Muwekma-Ohlone Wildlife Sanctuary (SLUG/CDBG)
Formalize grant documents i.e. MOU with Port of SF, Athena Project, ABAG, other pertinent jurisdictional partners
Develop and Implement Permit Process Plan; execute required permits
Develop site-specific improvement plan in partnership with CCC (as agreed to by Fred Corbin) to include revegetation and site improvements at various Hub locations, propagation of appropriate native plants, final design of spur trail.
Work with City of San Francisco to pursue plan to install a Decaux Toilet Facility within the Hub Project area; and/or install modular facility as alternative or temporary amenity.
Install garbage receptacles throughout The Hub Project and contract with appropriate agency for pick-up.
Develop and begin to implement community-driven public art site plan. Seek funding for installation of donated Healing Totem Pole.
Begin working with local schools and other educational programs (Adopt-A-Watershed, Literacy for Environmental Justice, Heron's Head Docent Program, etc.) to begin utilizing the site for educational pursuits.
Design interpretive signs, gateway/entrance, interpretive station at Muwekma-Ohlone Sanctuary.
Organize and implement periodic community clean-up days to promote site stewardship.
SECOND YEAR TASKS
Implement spur trail plan.
Construct and install gateway, interpretive signs and kiosks, directional signage along surface streets.
Install toilet facility, drinking fountain, bike racks.
Fully implement educational program including partnering with schools to further study, appreciate and advocate value of open space areas
